Post is now past. It’s been long enough now and I have outpoured enough of how I am feeling. Therefore, it’s the after time.
Really not sure how this is going to take shape. Let’s see what happens.
Well that’s interesting – the first three songs all linked back. A bit of anger/frustration/bewilderment too.
- A Book About Love, A Coil And Mortality – Started life as music set to the characters of a book. Was never going to go anywhere so I thought of melding them together to create an epic.
2. After The After – Life goes on but never exactly the way you imagined. This reflects the fact that I am in a better place now than I was for a while but still … well, just still. This one really reflects the rollercoaster of moods that visit me daily. I kinda like this song to be honest. Enjoyed the guitar lead at the end, good fun.
PS) Added some bits at the end because the “angry” wasn’t coming out enough. I know it’s pretty heavy and distorted and a wall of sound but that’s just it.
3. And Yeah That Hurt – well what is happening does hurt. Some might say that things hurt others more. Well that’s fine, they can write songs about that. This is me revealing my feelings, something I was accused of not doing for so long. But here it is. Played on my new Strat which I am loving. Teamed up with the Maton on this one and I love the sound of them together. Will probably do more like that. And had to include the Shimmer that I created on my Zoom. Saved me $500 that little creation.
4. I Don’t See That One – a comparison of someone I used to know and who they are now. Chalk and cheese. Deliberate changes of the use of “her” and “you”. But as for the music it was a vain attempt at a rip off of Money For Nothing. Had some fun recording this too because for the guitars I recorded two tracks – one mic’d up close the the amp and another mic about a metre or so away in a really echoie church. It created a fuller sound. Quite liked it, hope you do to.
